๐ŸŒฟ What is it? ๐ŸŒฟ
Osteoporosis is a condition in which the bones become weak,fragile and more likely to break. As you get older you start to lose bone density, this is normal, but for some it can lead to osteoporosis and increased number of fractures.

๐ŸŒž Who can get it? ๐ŸŒž
Anyone can get it, but women are more likely to due to the fact women lose bones more rapidly, especially during menopause. Other factors include those with inflammatory conditions (rheumatoid arthritis, Crohns, COPD), hormone effected conditions (thyroid problems), family history of it, a long term use of medications that affect the bones or steroids, heavy drinking and smoking.

๐ŸŒธ Statistics ๐ŸŒธ
In the UK, atleast 3 million people have osteoporosis. Worldwide 8.9 million fractures do to osteoporosis occur annually. Osteoporosis is said to affect 75 million in Europe, USA and Japan.
