๐Ÿ’š What is it? ๐Ÿ’š
It is not a disease in it’s self, but an umbrella term used to describe the many autoimmune and inflammatory conditions that can develop in children under 16. There is no known cause of JA, but most research points towards a genetic predisposition.

-Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis
– Juvenile Lupus
– Juvenile Scleroderma
– Kawasaki Disease
– Juvenile Fibromyalgia

๐ŸŒบ Who is affected? ๐ŸŒบ
Of course as it’s juvenile it mainly affects children. However adults who had juvenile arthritis go on to develop mature arthritic problems such as Fibromyalgia, Rheumatoid Arthritis etc. It is more likely in girls than boys, however the statistics are relatively high for both.

Affects 300,000 children in the USA. 12,000 children in the UK are known to have some form of arthritis.
